Throwing out religion with the bathwater

Religious institutions can only offer so much to so many people. Occasionally the confidence and enthusiasm of the convert or devout member will erode. People fall through the cracks all the time. On the one hand you have the Pharisees – ultraconservative adherents to the Judaic religion. On the other hand you have the cynic and the disbeliever. People who turn away from orthodoxy can still lead good and meaningful lives. Millions of people around the world do. What’s a disaffected religious person to do?
